At Progymédia, we’re looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, exploring possibilities and solving problems. Someone with solid software development fundamentals who uses artificial intelligence to accomplish more—without handing over their judgment.
You understand code, feel comfortable in a development environment and know how the frontend, backend, data and services work together.
Most importantly, you keep the essentials in focus: the client’s needs, the agreed project scope and the consistency of the solutions we build.
What you’ll work on
You’ll contribute to the development and evolution of our B2B/B2C e-commerce solutions, including Boutik, as well as our ERP integrations, automations and artificial intelligence projects.
Working with the team, you’ll identify the underlying needs, investigate how existing applications work and propose appropriate solutions. You’ll use AI assistants and agents to explore code, develop, debug and test, while staying in control of the changes they propose.
Your work won’t stop at “it works.” You’ll also verify that the solution follows business rules, fits the existing application and doesn’t introduce regressions elsewhere.
A request may sound simple while affecting several systems. Your role is to understand those connections before making changes.
The technical foundations we’re looking for
You don’t need to be an expert in every technology we use. You do need to be able to read code, understand its logic and explain the changes you contribute to.
We’re looking for solid foundations in the following areas:
- Development environments
comfort with VS Code, Cursor or a comparable environment, the terminal and debugging tools.
- Git and collaborative development
branches, commits, pull requests, conflict resolution and code review.
- Frontend
understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML/CSS and the concepts behind frameworks such as React and Next.js.
- Backend and data
understanding of APIs, services, databases, authentication and business logic, particularly in a Node.js environment.
- AI-assisted development
ability to give an assistant or agent clear context, guide its work and verify its output.
- Software quality
ability to reproduce an issue, investigate its cause, test a fix and consider security, performance and maintainability.
Experience with e-commerce, systems integration or ERP platforms is an asset.

A customization for one client can affect a shared product, an integration or other users. You anticipate those effects and propose a solution that fits the need without unnecessarily expanding the scope.
You combine creativity with critical thinking.
You explore new approaches without adding complexity for its own sake. You challenge AI-generated suggestions, test your assumptions and explain why you recommend one approach over another.
You work independently, but not in isolation.
You take initiative, communicate clearly and recognize when a second opinion is needed. Raising an uncertainty or flagging a risk is part of doing the job well.
Our working environment
You’ll work on-site at our Blainville offices, alongside our team of developers and technology specialists.
